At the workshop organized by the Energy Ministry several days ago executive director of electricity affairs Ali Bin Abdullah Al Owais
announced the plans to build the solar power plant in Dubai adopting green building legislation, incorporated in Dubai since the beginning of 2008.
Dubai’s new power plant will follow the first carbon-free city in the world – Masdar City, and wind energy projects in Fujairah emirate as a response to growing electricity demand
and needs to diversify the energy sources.
Al Owais predicts the future UAE investments in development of alternative sources of energy will reach billions of dollars in another 10 years.
