Although the official opening is scheduled for Dubai World Cup on March 27, they were already several race competitions held on brand new racecourse Meydan.
Aimed to replace not so old Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, Meydan is not only the course but the new ‘horse city’ in the centre of Dubai.
A mile long new Grandstand can accommodate up to 60,000 guests and includes the hotel in the bottom part.
The complex, when finished, is going to include high-end international restaurants, an IMAX theatre, Meydan Marina and two premises previously known Nad Al Sheba : the Meydan Museum and Gallery which will host Godolphin stables museum, and the Falcon Commercial Park.
Other facilities include receiving barns, stables, turf and All-Weather training tracks and jockey and horsemen’s lounges.
The Course itself comprises of 1,750m All-Weather track and a 2,400m turf track.
